PTG Unveiled Business Roadmap in Order To "DRIVE FOR TOMORROW" Elevating both Oil and Non-Oil Businesses for Steering Company's Growth and Sustainability in Every Dimensions

PTG launches a roadmap, "PTG Business Outlook: Drive for Tomorrow" to upgrade PT gas stations and improve services through PT Service Master to meet customers’ needs of "Well-Being, and Contentedness" in all aspects of life. In 2022, the company achieved the highest oil sales volume of 5,316 million liters. Additionally, the Company reveals the marketing strategies for Punthai Coffee Business and a 5-year future business plan for expanding Oil and Non-Oil businesses to grow and be sustainable in all dimensions.

Mr. Pitak Ratchakiprakarn, President and CEO of PTG Energy Public Company Limited (PTG or The Company) mentioned that the Company held the press conference namely “PTG Business Outlook: Drive for Tomorrow” in order to communicate about upgrading PT gas stations and improving services through PT Service Master to meet the customers’ needs of "Well-Being, and Contentedness". In 2022, there were many important events. For Oil business, PTG had the highest record of oil sales volume from all marketing channels with the volume of 5,316 million liters. It’s increased by 5.9% if compared with the same period last year (YoY). The major growth is from the retail gas stations with the growth of 6.5% YoY. The Company also launched PT Max Park Salaya, which is a comprehensive PT fuel service station. This gas station is the first flagship with the modern design, installing digital oil dispensers and providing PT Service Master staffs to facilitate the services, where everyone has the special training for improving services to create the customers’ highest satisfaction.

For Non-Oil business, the Company has co-operated with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to install EV charging stations for cars inside PT service stations, named “Elex by EGAT Max”. In 2022, there were 35 EV charging stations, and the Company has a plan to install 65 stations in 2023 in order to cover major routes nationwide.

Also, the Company has Punthai coffee shops in which the business runs according to the strategic plan covering 4 areas. Firstly, is to focus on expansion of Punthai coffee shops in the form of “franchise” either inside or outside PT service stations. Secondly, is to lunch new drinks using local sourcing ingredients in various regions of Thailand. Thirdly, is to focus on delivery platform in order to enhance awareness, visibility and accessibility of brand. Lastly, is to do data analysis for customers’ behavior by utilizing customers’ information from PT Max Card an PT Max Card Plus in order to improve sales volume and frequency of customers’ visit for Punthai Coffee shops.

In addition, there is a crucial enabler supporting Oil and Non-Oil business, namely Max Me Application, which was officially launched 3Q2022. It is the application supporting the members of PT Max Card. As of today, there are more than 19 million members. The application will enable the members to do transactions via Online Channel such as collecting points and using as e-Wallet to make the payment via mobile phone supporting digital lifestyle and cashless society.

In terms of sustainable development, the Company signed the agreement for construction and management of 4.5 MW of waste-to-energy powerplant project with Ban Phru Municipality, Songkhla. The agreement was signed together with Ban Phru Municipality in 2022. The construction is expected to commence in 3Q2023 and COD is targeted around in 2025. With this project, it helps to reduce the amount of accumulated waste, to reduce the effects of odors and waste water, to recycle the waste and to improve the wellness, environment and well belling for everyone living around the community, which is aligned with the Company’s vision, which is to let all stakeholders to have "Well-Being, and Contentedness" in all aspects of life.

Mr. Pitak mentioned that the Company plans to have the retail oil market share of more than 25%, to have the Max Card members of more 30 million members from all provinces around Thailand , and to have Punthai Coffee shops of more than 5,000 brands within the next 5 years. Also, the Company will look for new business opportunities by taking advantage of PTG ecosystem to create a seamless O2O experience and using data for end-to end personalization which meets the customers’ needs. In addition, the Company will improve PT gas stations in 3 areas. First is expansion and renovation. The service stations will be expanded to 2,206 stations in 2023. Second is service innovation. It is to enhance service by having PT service master to provide the suggestion for customer and having Max Camp for customers to relax or take a rest during their trip. This is the free service provided for Max Card members. Third is data optimization. It is to collect the data about customers’ needs from Max Card, Max Card Plus, Max Me and Max Enterprise Connect in order to present data-driven offering and promotions that meet customers’ needs and satisfactions.

“The Company elevates the services in PT service stations by proving new service model, named “PT Service Master” promptly providing services and comments to customers making them be satisfied with the maximum privileges and better serving customers’ needs and proving services to all customers in Thailand. As of today, there are more than 200 staffs. We plan to increase to 2,500 people in the next 5 years. For PT Max Camp, we will provide all facilities such as bathroom, bed, TV and washing machines, which is free of charge service for membership. It will be opened for 24 hours a day with CCTV for security. As of present, the camps are located in 64 stations. It will be expanded to 141 stations by 2027. Currently, there are total 19 million members of Max Card. We plan to increase the membership to 30 million members in the next 5 year. The importance of Max Card and Max Card Plus is a tool using for analysis of customers’ behavior to increase sales volume and frequency of customers’ visit in our related businesses. In addition, we have an application and e-Wallet, namely Max Me, which will help to expand the membership in online platform. In 2023, the Company aims that the customers can make the payment through Max Me with our partners over 1 million touchpoints, and we will provide the digital, financing and lifestyle products connected with Max Me. Also, we will implement digital platform to serve B2B, which is Max Enterprise Connect. It’s fuel management planform that helps to efficiently control and manage fuel cost, solve the problems at the right spot and reduce documentation. It is suitable for entrepreneurs and businesses regardless of any size of company that they can monitor real time data for 24 hours and connect with Microservices in order to enhance the benefits for organizations in the future”, said Mr. Pitak.

Mr. Rangsan Puangprang, Executive Vice President, PTG Energy Company Limited mentioned that there is total 2,149 gas stations in 2022. They can be divided into 1,890 Company-owned-Company-operated (COCO) gas stations and 340 Dealer-owned-Dealer-operated gas stations.

For Non-Oil business, there is total 1,526 branches in 2022, which can be divided into 511 branches for Punthai coffee shops, 231 Auto LPG service stations, 253 LPG household gas shops (Gas Shop), 309 branches for Max Mart, 26 branches for Coffee World, 45 branches for Autobacs, 52 branches for Maxnitron Lube Change, 64 rest stops for Max Camp and 35 EV charging points.

“PTG’s Non-Oil business has grown in all dimensions. First is Touchpoint growth of 36% YoY with cumulative 5-year CAGR of 34%. Second is revenue growth of 68% YoY with cumulative 5-year CAGR of 37%. Next is gross profit with growth of 50% YoY and cumulative 5-year CAGR of 36%. The gross profit has been continuously growth. As of 2022, the gross profit from Non-Oil business was around 18.5%, which is in-line with our expected growth of 15-20%” said Mr. Rangsan.

For Solar Rooftop project, it was invested through PTG Green Energy Co, Ltd (PTGGE). As of today, it is under investing and purchasing power in form of private PPA with the Company. It plans to expand the investment in both domestic and overseas in the future. At present, the project has the investment value of THB 300 million and the capacity of 8.171 MW for Phase 1 – 4. For Phase 1 and Phase 2, they already completed the installation. In 2023, it plans to install the capacity addition of 6.291 MW, which is expected to be complete by 2024 and helps to reduce the electricity usage of 9.5 million MW per year, decrease costs by THB 40 – 50 million and lower carbon dioxide emissions by 4.237 million ton per year (EPPO ref: carbon dioxide emissions per kWH: 0.446)

“For the waste-to-energy plant in Ban Phru Municipality, it has the capacity of 4.5 MW. This project supports the Company’s renewable energy business and focuses on environment, which is in line with the Company’s ESG strategy. The investment value of the project is around THB 1,000 million. The project is expected to start the construction during 3Q/2023 and have COD in 2025. The benefits that the Company will receive is to reduce the accumulate amount of waste by 2 – 3 million tons, lower the carbon dioxide emissions by 4 – 5 million tons and to create the job opportunities for 100 positions. With this, the Company wants everyone to get the opportunity to have "Well-Being, and Contentedness" in all aspects of life” said Mr. Rangsan.
